Bozhkova Svetlana Anatolievna, Doctor of Medicine, chief of scientific department, clinical pharmacologist of higher category. Obtained diploma of higher education from St.Petersburg State health and hygiene medical institute in 1994. Dr.Bozhkova works at Russian Research Scientific Institute of traumatology and orthopaedics named after R.R.Vreden since 1993. In 2000 defended a candidate’s thesis “General complications after cemented hip replacement: prognosis and diagnosis” in the “traumatology and orthopaedics” speciality and in 2016 a doctor’s thesis “Optimization of antimicrobial therapy in patients with periprosthetic staphylococcal infection (experimental and clinical study)”.
Dr. Bozhkova is the deputy chairman of clinical pharmacologists association of St.Petersburg and Leningrad region, member of Interregional association for clinical microbiology and antimicrobial chemotherapy (IACMAC) as well as a member of European society of clinical microbiology and infectious diseases (ESMID). Research interests are related to development of new approaches to antimicrobial therapy for implant associated infections and osteomyelitis as well as prophylaxis of thromboembolic complications after orthopaedic procedures. Dr.Bozhkova is a member of expert groups elaborating Russian clinical recommendations on “Prophylaxis of venous thromboembolic complications in traumatology and orthopaedics” and clinical recommendations on “Perioperative treatment of patients undergoing long-term antimicrobial therapy”.
Dr. Bozhkova is the author of more than 100 publications dedicated to etiology, pathogenesis and antimicrobial therapy of infectious complications after large orthopaedic procedures, prophylaxis of thromboembolic complications in traumatology and orthopaedics, three patents, one monography and chapters in two manuals. Overall medical service is 22 years including 12 years work in “clinical pharmacology” speciality.
